Barry Day

This festive day in honour of the St. Bernard is for all dog lovers and people wishing to discover the world of "Barry".

Date : from 10 am to 6 pm, on Saturday, October 23rd

ON REGISTRATION ONLY. COVID CERTIFICATE REQUIRED FOR PEOPLE OVER 16 YEARS OLD.

Description

Surprising animations, including works that will be made live by regional artists, are part of the original programme of this day. Due to the measures to be taken into account due to the coronavirus epidemic, participation in this event will be by registration only (free of charge).

For the absolute fans, we offer the exclusivity to the first 180 registered persons the right to visit our kennel, which is usually closed to the public. The tourist train of Martigny 'Le Baladeur' will take the visitors from Barryland; count about 1 hour for the trip and the visit.

There will be food and drinks on the spot and original pictures will be taken with our mascot Barry who will be well surrounded for the occasion.

Exclusive visit of the kennel, usually closed to the public, from Barryland (Rue du Levant 34, 1920 Martigny) with the tourist train 'Le Baladeur'. Count 1 hour for the complete visit (journey and visit).

Winter walks

Walks in Champex-Lac with our Saint Bernards

Throughout the winter, you have the opportunity to take part in walks with our dogs in the gentle, dreamy winter landscape of Champex-Lac. Get to know our four-legged friends during a 45-minute walk, whilst admiring the splendid mountain scenery at the same time. Each outing is accompanied by two Saint Bernards, one is pulling a sledge. Children from 2 to 8 years old can sit in the sledge and be pulled along, one at a time. In addition, adults can take it in turns to hold a dog on a lead.

Details of the activity

The walks take place whatever the weather. If there is not enough snow, all the dogs will be held on a lead, without a sledge. The number of participants is limited to 8 people divided into maximum 3 groups (1 dog per group).

Site: Champex-Lac. Meeting point in front of the Champex-Lac Tourist Office (to get there, go through Orsières).

Dates: January and February (Saturdays and Sundays).

Spring walks

Walking in the woods with the Saint Bernards

Spend a privileged moment with our Saint-Bernards by accompanying them on a 45-minute walk in a pretty forest on the outskirts of the town of Martigny. This is the ideal opportunity to get to know this superb breed of emblematic Swiss dogs with their friendly and jovial character.

Details of the activity

The walks take place whatever the weather. The path is unsuitable for buggies. The number of participants is limited to 8 people divided into maximum 3 groups (1 dog per group).

Site: Martigny. Meeting at the Barryland (Rue du Levant 34, 1920 Martigny).

Dates: Every Saturday and Sunday in April and May.

Summer hikes

Hike to the Great Saint Bernard Pass

During the summer season, in July and August, you have the opportunity twice a day, to book a hike for trained mountain lovers with our Saint Bernards at the Great Saint Bernard Pass. A dog keeper and her Saint Bernards accompany you for this high mountain hike, which lasts about one and a half hour, at an altitude of 2400m.

Details of the activity

The hikes take place in all weathers, except in extreme conditions. It takes about 1h30-2h walking time to complete this hike. The number of participants is limited to 10 people divided into a maximum of 3 groups (1 dog per group). The minimum age is 8 years.

Warning: This is a mountain hike that requires a good physical condition. Some sections of the path are steep (difficulty T2). For your safety, you must wear mountain boots and appropriate hiking clothing.

Site: Great Saint Bernard Pass. Meeting point in front of the tourism office (approximately 45 minutes away from Martigny by car).

Dates: Every day in July and August.
